Spun Cast High Chrome Iron Rolls are made with a fine combination of nickel, manganese, carbon, suplphur, potassium and some other elements. The design of the rolls is suitable for early finishing stands of hot strip mills. It features a shell matrix comprising of complex carbides in martenistic matrix without graphite. Special heat treatment cycles are given to enhance the mechanical strength of shells. In this process, the hardness drop in the shell layer is nearly negligible. The benefits of using Spun Cast High Chrome Iron Rolls are numerous. Some benefits are: it gives tolerance to mills conditions, it improves resistance to initiation of cracking and propagation, uniform hardness throughout the working life, etc. These properties of rolls ensure profile consistence and total flexibility during operations.
